TCG Places Director of Human Resources at Enerbase

MINOT, NORTH DAKOTA – Enerbase Cooperative Resources, a multifaceted cooperative company that aids farmers as well as other businesses and citizens in the area of Minot, has placed Becky Nelson as their new Director of Human Resources. Managing Partner, Pam Noble and Recruiting Director, Carrie Longmire led and placed this critical HR search.

“As we began this search, we quickly realized that our mission and vision were right aligned with Enerbase’s. We knew that Enerbase faced the unique challenge of finding a highly qualified candidate to address their constantly evolving HR needs in rural North Dakota,” said Pam Noble. “After an extensive search, we found the perfect match in Becky. With her strong background and unique skillset, she is poised to help Enerbase continue to thrive and serve its community with distinction.”

Becky has full responsibility for the Human Resources function in a highly visible role, reporting directly to the CFO and GM.  Nelson will partner with the management team to provide expertise and guidance as it relates to talent and human resources.  Becky will also be very interactive and engaged within the workforce, building relationships through a strong presence, and providing real-time coaching and advising on HR and safety opportunities.

“Their [TCG] communication, the process of ‘vetting’ me for the an upcoming interview, and the experience overall working with The Christopher Group was top notch.  Not only did I feel very prepared for the interview; I also felt through due process they ensured my needs met the needs of the company I was interviewing with, and that we were a fit for each other. This team is extremely professional, dedicated, and one I would choose to work with hands down,” Becky Nelson shared.

About Enerbase Cooperative Resources

In 1928, a group of Minot laboring citizens (mostly railroad men) began to investigate the possibilities of organizing a cooperative oil company. They had been trying to operate a cooperative store and when it became a stock company instead of a cooperative and failed, the original promoters began to look at the very high margins in petroleum products. This group invited several farmers to join them and in 1928 they incorporated under the name of the Minot Cooperative Oil Company. On June 28, 1928, the incorporators met, adopted By-Laws, and elected a Board of Directors. Each prospective member was sold two shares of stock at $25.00 each. In July 1928 the North Dakota Farmers Union put their stamp of approval on the new cooperative. The first stockholders meeting was held November 10, 1928, with 92 members present.

Today, nearly a century later, the cooperative is still going strong. Still owned by the patrons and operated by a local producer board, decisions for the cooperative are made locally, right here in Minot. Enerbase now owns and operates twelve Cenex-branded convenience stores and is a major supplier of Cenexfuels, lubricants and propane to area businesses and producers. The Minot facility also boasts an extensive parts department for agricultural producers as well as a hardware store and car care center.
