Biography

Dr. Amy Stewart is a licensed Industrial/Organizational Psychologist with over 25 years’ experience working with Fortune 500, government, and non-profit organizations to increase their human capital return on investment.  With extensive knowledge in the fundamentals of supervisory and leadership success, she is skilled in assisting managers, senior leaders, and executives mature and apply capabilities in their unique circumstances. She also is a measurement expert with capability in competency modeling, selection, onboarding, performance management, organizational growth, succession planning, and test construction.

She serves as an executive and senior leadership assessor and coach, and designs and implements strategies to align individual abilities with company results across the talent lifecycle. She previously was the Chief Talent Officer for Jefferson County Alabama where she designed court-ordered employee development programs to mitigate existing deficits identified in a consent decree.  Prior to her work with the County, she served as the Assessment for VP Selection and Development Leader at Lowes, Inc., a home improvement business. At Lowes, Dr. Stewart built the executive selection program, facilitated leadership and team development to increase organizational effectiveness, consulted on culture fit measurement, and provided input on-field and corporate recruiting and hiring processes.  Her professional career traverses diverse industries and organizational levels.

Dr. Stewart has a passion for people and science and enjoys using psychology to address complex work problems, achieve strategic outcomes, and assist others in maximizing their leadership abilities. Besides supporting leadership maturation, her greatest strengths are in connecting scientific methods and data to solve business challenges; applying employment law to ensure ethical and equitable treatment of all; and building relationships that facilitate understanding, change, and progress.

Dr. Stewart earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from Georgia State University and a Master’s of Science and Doctorate in Applied Psychology from the University of Georgia. She is licensed in the state of Georgia. Her affiliations include the Georgia Association for Industrial Organizational Psychology, where she serves on the Board, and the Society for Industrial/Organizational Psychology.
