What do you love about being an executive recruiter?

The opportunity to solve challenging issues as well as being able to match a candidate and client together is very rewarding. I enjoy the fast pace and competitive aspect of recruiting. Every position we work on presents its own unique set of challenges, it’s our job to figure out the solution. It’s not always easy or immediately clear, but our goal is to always find a way.

There is never a typical day in talent acquisition so you have to be on your toes at all times.

What advice do you have for candidates?

The advice I would give to candidates is to be open to listening and building relationships with recruiters that are deep-rooted in their verticals. You may be happy in your role currently but things can always change in today’s business climate. Establishing a relationship creates several benefits for you as a candidate by learning the market, finding the right fit, discussing your career goals but more importantly, it creates future opportunities to connect for when the time is right to start looking for a new role.

Favorite quarantine activity?

Anything to do with the outdoors and fresh air. We love to take our daughter to parks, farms, or any kid-friendly events in the Kansas City area.

Favorite TCG Memory?

Our last offsite in Orlando was filled with sun and fun activities. Whether it was floating down a lazy river, playing a round of golf, attending the food & wine festival at Epcot, it was a blast.

Fun Fact

I have an audio engineering degree and completed an internship with Michael Jackson’s recording engineer, the great Bruce Swedien.
